Director, Ozanimod Field Marketing MS- West

US Marketing

The Director Field Marketing, MS is a field-based, non-sales position focused on directing a team of 8-10 Field Marketing Specialists, MS that are working closely with U.S Neurology Thought Leaders to ensure that coordinated and collaborative cross-functional resources are made available as appropriate. The four keys areas that the Director will oversee and strive for excellence are Thought Leader engagement, executive encounters with leadership, advocacy development, and liaising with home office marketing. In this role, the Director will work closely with the cross functional leaders to ensure alignment with the overall brand strategy and tactical execution. The attributes that are critical for success include leadership, act for change, collaboration, communication, planning, talent development, and the ability to direct strategic and tactical initiatives.

This role is responsible for delivering enhanced interactions and business results through successful leadership and management of the Field Marketing team. This role responsible for building a national field organization suitable to support business goals in the competitive marketplace and executing the launch of new products within the Neurology portfolio. 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Works to source, interview, hire, orient and train the Field Marketing Specialists.
  • Strategically assess and identify critical analytics information required to successfully achieve goals
  • Help define the culture, structure and future direction of Celgene’s FMS Team
  • Build a high performance team, capable of ensuring coordinated and collaborative cross functional resources with Thought Leaders
  • Create a compliant environment which challenges, motivates and develops team members to reach optimum performance and potential
  • Set clear objectives, coach/mentor, and assess performance and skill level to develop future leaders within the Immunology and Inflammation central business unit and Celgene.
  • Provide strategic customer insights to the Marketing Leadership team to assist in the development of the Neurology function.
  • Work collaboratively with multiple matrix partners in developing and refining business plans to achieve brand objectives
  • Develop appropriate budget allocations and ensure the team take a disciplined approach to resource utilization
  • Leads the team in a compliant manner

Skills/Knowledge Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree or other advanced education/certification preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience within the specialty pharmaceutical / biotech industry in one or more of the following: field sales, product marketing, or medical / clinical experience including management experience in the MS market or a similar specialty market. Launch experience preferred.
  •  A breadth of experience; combination of home-office and field experience required. Experience within MS highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Ability to present ideas effectively to individuals or groups, targeting presentation to the needs of the audience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong project management experience, including superior analytical and planning skills.  Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to execute against strategic and tactical plans under tight timelines
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel; ~ 50% - 80% travel likely; could be less based on geography
  • Work within regulatory and legal compliance guidelines
