The Director of Pricing, Reimbursement and Market Access is responsible for developing, implementing and managing of all aspects of the pricing, reimbursement and market access strategy across all products and key customer segments. This individual works in close collaboration with project management, marketing, medical affairs, legal, regulatory and clinical operations.   

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develops all strategic and tactical aspects of the pricing, reimbursement and market access launch plans.
  • Designs and executes plans for pricing research and pricing competitive intelligence to provide recommendations on global pricing strategy to management.
  • Drive competitive intelligence on payer assessments and reimbursement decisions as well as disseminate information and identified implications across functions.
  • Develop various pricing models and contracting options to optimize the value of the products over its lifecycle.
  • Establishes relationships with key payer groups, health plans, physician groups, medical centers, public/government payers and patient advocacy organizations to gain insights for pricing reimbursement potentials and market access challenges.
  • Align with marketing to ensure that payer and reimbursement marketing strategy, pricing and messaging are consistent with Brand positioning.
  • Lead the development and implementation of health outcomes programs to support the value proposition strategy and create value map and key value messages for each product.
  • Monitor and Identify Health Technology Assessment (HTA) requirements, trends and reimbursement pathways for key markets and provide HTA reviews and pharmacoeconomic comparisons of therapy.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Economics and MBA preferred
  • 8 years of pricing, reimbursement and market access experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • In-depth knowledge of various reimbursement systems and solid qualitative/quantitate payer research experience.
  • Strong understanding of innovative global pricing models.
  • Strong understanding of the payer environment and HTA trends and guidance.
  • Excellent analytical skills and outcomes research capability
  • A proven track record in product launch experience preferred
