Under the direction of the Business Unit Director Hematology, this individual will be responsible for analyzing, optimizing and developing together with the Business Unit Leadership the commercial model for Celgene’s current and future products as well as for managing pipeline assets in early pre-launch phases.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Operational Excellence

  • Work cross-functionally to ensure coordination, prioritization and strategic alignment of tactical programmes and plans throughout the marketing and field teams as well as national projects
  • Identify opportunities to drive Hematology growth and to further enhance operational excellence (process improvement)
  • Plan and coordinate content of national field force meetings
  • Touchpoint of the German BU Hematology for Global Operational Excellence
  • Provide strong support for the budget and forecasting process (ROI, P&L, LE)

    2. Organizational Readiness

  • Evaluate and develop new sales approaches (multi-product/indication)
  • Assessment of field force and marketing structure and develop a roadmap of organizational change
  • Identify opportunities to further enhance marketing mix and provide product-specific plans with key activities by channel
  • Ensure an effective cross-indication training schedule throughout the year for the field force and propose a mix of methods and channels
  • Provide input into resource planning

    3. Organizational Readiness

  • Support the Hematology Business Unit to prepare for organizational change
  • Develop, evaluate and present business cases for both line extensions and pipeline assets
  • Prioritization, phasing and timing of sales and marketing activities with the goal of keeping customer focus while preparing for multiproduct approach
  • Life cycle management of in-line products
  • Develop and deliver presentations for internal audiences, including Senior Management

4. Lead Commercialization of early pipeline assets within franchise (up to 12 months before launch)

  • Develop national strategic plans
  • Prepare and present business cases including resource planning
  • Contribute and support of G3M teams and German CAR-T core team
  • Roll out of commercial trainings for pipeline assets
  • Contribute to the development of assets which are taken care of by Early Commerzialisation department
  • Lead handover of assets to product managers 12 months prior to launch

Skills/Knowledge Required:

  • Strong identification with Celgene’s values
  • University degree
  • Profound professional experience in the fields of product management, and/or sales analysis and/or market research in a pharmaceutical enterprise
  • High level of strategic thinking
  • Experience with and understanding of commercial models in pharmaceutical industry
  • Ability to present to senior management on national / global level
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with multiple internal stakeholders e.g. medical affairs, market access, commercial excellence
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and German
  • Excellent project management skills, such as planning, prioritization, objective setting, meeting management, and plan execution
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to turn analyses into actions
  • Independent self-starter, accurate and well organized, strong ‘Can Do’ attitude
  • Proven team player
  • Strong business acumen and open minded
