The Senior Manager, Enterprise Hosting Services at Celgene is a mission critical leader in delivering and supporting technology infrastructure to meet the substantial growth of the business. The Enterprise Services team is essential to service ownership and service design of all new infrastructure for hosting and automation (IaaS). In this key role, you will lead and mange a team of service design and development and be hands-on. You must be able to foster innovation and to demonstrate strong business acumen and technical depth in order to successfully deliver and support your team in delivering in an agile, dynamic environment. You should have a strong sense of personal accountability and be excited by the challenge of working in a scalable, innovative environment. 

Responsibilities:

  • Strong Engineering/Operations Skills
    • Effectively articulate and understand our Technology Infrastructure.
    • Managed engineers on projects and delivery of services.
    • Be able to design and build (hands-on)
    • Deep knowledge of Systems including virtualized and cloud
    • Strong knowledge of compute, storage and backup technologies
    • Strong knowledge of automation and workflows
    • Engage effectively in technology discussions with Architects.
    • Clearly be able to communicate to upper level management by translating technology needs to business requirements.
    • Knowledge of Cloud computing as it relates to infrastructure and security.
    • Experience with deployment of equipment into multiple enterprise data centers.
    • Improve the processes and policies in support of the organizations mission.
    • Contribute and collaborate on further automation tasks for the deployment of hardware and software.
  • Strong Leadership & People Management
    • Engage and inspire direct reports
    • Develop talent such that the team achieves their full potential
    • Prioritize work effectively and coach to optimize overall team results
    • Provide leadership, transparency and visibility to the Enterprise Services team.
    • Develop strong partnerships with Architecture, Project Management, Operations and other service organizations
    • Contribute to short and long-term organizational planning and strategy as a member of the management team.
    • Organized and capable of multi-tasking.

      Qualifications

      Qualifications: 

    • 10+ years of relevant experience including at least 5 years in a management role
    • BS degree in Computing Sciences or equivalent technical discipline
    • Strong Linux and Microsoft operating system knowledge and experience including 5 years maintaining, troubleshooting, and performing performance analysis and tuning
    • Good knowledge of configuration management technologies (e.g. Puppet, Foreman)
    • Extensive experience designing and building highly-available, high-volume environments, ideally in a SaaS or commodity websites with 24x7 100% uptime goals
    • Strong track record of effective project management, estimating resource requirements and timelines, managing and tracking multiple projects simultaneously, and delivering on commitments
    • Experience with monitoring and performance analysis tools
    • Very strong verbal and written communications skills
    • The ability to the ability to clearly define ideas and recommendations, lead physical and virtual teams, and drive consensus
    • Strong experience with at least one virtualization/cloud platform (e.g. VMware, CloudStack, OpenStack) a must
    • Strong experience with cloud (AWS, Azure) a must
    • Strong experience with VMware automations tools a must
    • Pharmaceutical / Compliance experience a plus
    • ITIL a plus
    • SDLC a plus
