Summary:

Reporting to the business unit director, haematology/oncology for Belgium & Luxembourg, the brand manager (BM) will have the co-responsibility for part of marketing activities relating to the multiple myeloma franchise. She/he will work in pair with another brand manager to co-lead the marketing strategy and action plan for two Celgene commercial products. She/he will play a key role in the disease team to elaborate tactics related to the disease plan and to provide sales and marketing tools to the Belgian and Luxembourg sales team. The BM is also responsible for the product-life cycle management and realisation of targets.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining part of the marketing and communication strategy and part of the tactics for product(s) assigned to him/her (including new indications) to maximise product performance and to meet product related objectives.
  • Includes printed and electronic communication materials, product training and relevant clinical papers (within the registered indication). Development of communication materials in accordance with the healthcare compliance rules in place (SOP approval materials and country specific rules)
  • Ensures efficient teamwork with the other brand manager and more broadly with the disease team in a constructive and customer-focused mindset
  • Liaises closely with the product specialists to ensure a full understanding of strategy and tactics and to optimise materials.
  • When needed, liaises with third parties to develop product campaigns, media coverage and organisation of conferences
  • Designs & executes market research projects to assess market and customer dynamics
  • Co-responsible for forecast of sales for product(s) assigned to him/her; reports any deviation without any delay to the business unit director
  • Co-conducts the financial management of the marketing program, which includes accurate budget planning and consequent spending and tracking
  • Involvement in the development of an innovative disease plan using Celgene methodology in close collaboration with other internal stakeholders
  • Establishes relationships with selected KOL’s and other relevant external stakeholders through field visits, projects, congress attendance
  • Acts as a partner for all product related enquiries and work hand in hand with colleagues in regulatory, safety and medical. Provides the necessary support to the sales manager to further support implementation and adaptation of strategies & tactics as per disease plan
  • Keeps knowledge of disease, indication(s) and assigned product(s) up to date. Keeps knowledge of new trends of marketing and sales within the pharmaceutical environment
  • Develops and manages relationships with relevant internal Celgene colleagues outside of Belgium & Luxembourg in order to influence decisions and strategy and to apply learnings from other affiliates and HQ

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor or master degree in life sciences and/or business education
  • Minimum 2 years of marketing experience in the pharmaceutical industry (biotech preferred) or in a pharma /medical division of another industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in product/marketing management
  • Knowledge or previous experience in haematology/oncology or hospital products is preferred
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements (e.g. country specific promotion guidelines)
  • Fluent in Dutch, French and English
  • Willingness to travel; possesses valid driver’s license
