The Global Product Development and Operations (GPDO) Strategic Sourcing Department is responsible for relationship management and selection process overview for all suppliers qualified as GxP-related (GMP: Good Manufacturing Practices, GDP: Good Distribution Practices). This Department is involved in projects and daily activities of all other GPDO Departments and the associated spend management. 

The Associate Manager Technical Sourcing has a strategic and supporting role in the deployment of sourcing activities involving GxP and GxP – related suppliers. 

2.    Skills/Knowledge Required
•    Fluency in English (Advanced Level), French a plus,
•    University Degree in sciences, business or law or equivalent,
•    4+ years’ experience in a multinational environment including 2+ years in pharmaceutical industry,
•    Proven track record of successful strategic sourcing projects in the area of Pharma Manufacturing and/or Pharma Distribution, 
•    Experience in contract processes, negotiation and contract management,
•    Experience in GMP and /or GDP,
•    Excellent organization skills,
•    Excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills,
•    Project Management, synthesis and analysis skills,
•    Practice of MS office, 
•    Sound knowledge of purchasing ERP systems and spend analysis tools.

3.    Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 
a.    Manage or support as requested relationship with existing suppliers in defined purchasing categories:
o    Ensure an optimal contractual framework: liaise with Legal, negotiate contracts, 
o    Support regular supplier performance evaluations,
o    Act as liaison to suppliers and develop relationships to assure the optimum mix of delivery, quality and best value,
o    Support periodic business review meetings with stakeholders and suppliers,
o    Ensure proper internal coordination in communication with supplier,
o    Analyse and report the market situation and best practices within the supported category(ies).

b.    Manage or support as requested, contracts and the contract & supplier’s database:
o    Liaise with Legal through the contracting process & archiving, ensuring the efficiency of the process,
o    Update the contract database and monitor termination, renewals, etc.,
o    Ensure all new contracts negotiated and/or reviewed by the GPDO Sourcing team are entered in the database,
o    Ensure changes to suppliers and new suppliers are documented in the database,
o    Ensure appropriate due diligences have been executed before contracting or renewing contracts.

c.    Manage or support as requested strategic sourcing projects:
o    Identifies and develops sources for specialized raw materials, equipment and services that meet business, quality and regulatory compliance needs,
o    Lead or participate to projects and provide Management regular feedback (projects may be cross-functional and involve several stakeholders located in different locations),
o    Gather requirements from the stakeholder(s) and support the proposal of sourcing strategy,
o    Prepare and lead or support competitive bids and requests for proposal (RFP) processes for services and materials,
o    Support stakeholders in supplier awarding,
o    Lead or support contract negotiation,
o    Keep formal record of main milestones and decisions of the project.

d.    Responsible to ensure transparency in supplier selection processes, or support it:
o    Prepare & review the supplier selection process and present it to the Supervisor for approval,
o    Prepare & review the final decision and its rationale and present it to the Supervisor for approval.

e.    Act as point of contact for contract compliance issues within GPDO, provides guidance, liaises with suppliers and Legal, leads negotiations.

f.    Partner with functions to develop strong understanding of the business in order to tailor sourcing plans, projects and process.

g.    Implement industry best practices by capitalizing on relationships with both internal and external partners and practicing market vigilance.

h.    Perform spend analysis and supplier-base analysis.

i.    Contribute to cost reduction, risk mitigation or supplier base consolidation programs, contribute to the company’s preferred vendor strategy and global spend leveraging efforts.

j.    Support and maintain supplier management procedures, guidelines and technology.
