Associate Director of Corporate Accounting

Description

Associate Director of Corporate Accounting is a member of the Finance organization who will analyze and approve standalone legal entity consolidating financial statements, work closely with key stakeholders to provide accounting support related to recurring and non-recurring intercompany transactions, perform impairment tests of In-process Research and Development assets, and monitor Contingent Consideration liabilities for required adjustments.  The position will also assist in the management and the preparation of SEC filings, including Quarterly Form 10-Q, Annual Form 10-K and other required filings.  The position will report to the Director of Corporate Accounting and will also assist in providing thought leadership and applying current best practices.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide accounting support related to recurring and non-recurring intercompany transactions, including
    • Legal entity structure changes and reorganizations (step plans)
    • Recurring intercompany transactions such as Loans, Royalties, Research and Development recharges, Service charges and Inventory transfers
  • Ensure key stakeholders are aware of contemplated Intercompany transactions and potential impacts such transactions would have on the separate company financial statements
  • Analyze and approve standalone legal entity consolidating financial statements (Balance sheet and P&L) for both statutory and tax reporting purposes to ensure that all Intercompany transactions are properly recorded.
  • Perform impairment testing of In-process Research and Development assets as a result of clinical developments, external factors, etc. and prepare quarterly impairment review memos.
  • Monitor Contingent Consideration liabilities for required adjustments as a result of clinical developments, external factors, etc. and prepare quarterly review memos.
  • Assist in the management and the preparation of SEC filings including Quarterly Form 10-Q, Annual Form 10-K and other required filings in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Assist in the coordination of footnote preparation with other Corporate functions; draft MD&A section with input from key stakeholders; and review quarterly earnings release and supporting schedules.
  • Manage ad-hoc special projects, including participation on or leadership of cross functional teams.

    Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting
  • CPA certification
  • 8-12 years experience; including supervisory experience
  • Big 4 public accounting and pharmaceutical experience strongly desired

  • Experience with Oracle, Oracle Business Intelligence and SmartView a plus

  • Ability to influence management across multiple teams
