This Senior Research Associate will work in biologics purification process development group. Reporting to the head of the Downstream Process Development, the successful applicant should be a highly-motivated and collaborative individual with strong technical and organizational skills. The position represents an excellent growth and learning opportunity, will work closely with experienced scientists in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
1.Execute harvest and downstream processing of biologics produced in mammalian cell culture or microbial cell culture.
2.Routinely perform protein purification and sample analysis in support of process development of biologics.
3.Assistance with various biochemical and immunological assays, including protein separation analysis, CE-SDS and ELISAs.
4.Work collaboratively with other functional groups such as cell line, upstream and analytical development to accomplish project goals and milestones.
5.Perform routine lab activities including buffer preparation, column packing and sample submission.
6.Use creative problem-solving skills to troubleshoot experimental challenges.
7.Detail-oriented tracking and documenting of experimental results in laboratory notebooks and databases.
8.Analyze, summarize, and present experimental results to manager and other team members.
B.S. in biochemical/chemical engineering, biological sciences or relevant discipline with 2-4 years of industrial protein purification experience in production of recombinant therapeutic proteins
Knowledge and/or experience with downstream process development including chromatography, filtration, AKTA FPLC systems (particularly unicorn software).
Familiar with HPLC/UPLC, spectrophotometry, SDS-PAGE and Western-blot assays.
Outstanding critical thinking and organizational skills, lab notebook practices, and attention to details.Good verbal and written communication skills.
